How hard is it getting a job working at a Verizon call center? Any advice?

I'm currently trying to work at a repair call center for Verizon. I wanted to know if anyone that has worked there and been through the hiring process have any tips and hints on getting the job. Other then the normal dress for success, carry your resume, etch type information. Any advice would be really appreciated. How hard is it getting a job working at a Verizon call center? Any advice?
The interview responses should be your primary focus. Try to prep yourself by thinking about how you would answer questions like: ';Describe a time when you had to tell a customer 'no' and what the outcome was.'; or ';Tell us about a time when you went above and beyond for a customer.'; or ';Describe a situation where you dealt with an irate customer and how you handled it.'; These may not be the exact questions that will be asked, but you want to draw from any past experiences with face-to-face customer contact and show the interviewer why your skillset will match well with their position.

Your examples should of course end with a positive result for the customer. Don't tell a story about how you ticked a customer off unless it has a powerful learning lesson to which you have adjusted your behaviors. As long as you are genuine and can demonstrate a desire to help people and resolve problems, it should not be very difficult to get the job.

Some traits that you may want to exemplify for this type of job would be:

Empathy

Understanding

Good voice tone

Multi-tasking

Problem solving

Appreciation

Computer skills
