How should one person use there time to the best possible, and what is the best way to make long-lasting friends. How is it different from school. What are the best bit of advice when u first start university? Regarding making friends, study and everything.
Hi
It is easier to make friends if you live in halls of residence, but even if you don't mix with other students as much as you can. Join some societies, go to fresher week. As far as work is concerned, don't fall behind. The big difference with school is that nobody is checking on you, so you may think you have plenty of time before you write that essay or that report and then suddenly you have 5 essays to write and 10 reports and only 2 days left. Attend tutorials, they are important as it is when lecturers go into more details about the work they set and check whether your university offers surgeries (that is for students who have difficulties with a module).
At first everything appears strange and frightening, but you will soon find your feet and enjoy yourself.

I'm facing the same dilemma. My advice would be to just be yourself, and take everything as it comes.
It's just like school only better.
Angel,
I did this, studies apart.
(Oh the leaning went fine), I became involved in the SU. so booking bands as the entertainments officer. Many a freind and good fun.Keep an eye on the regulars in the bar, they can become good lasting freinds.
I still go to re-unions.
It is strange at first, as obviously you know no-one, and they don't know you.
That soon puts itself right, as in say a first day at school.
Concentrate on the studies though, as that leads to folks asking you for a solution to their problen.
All good fun and academic stuff.

(Technically M.Sc) although I now don't bother with it much.
Dont worry about making friends that will happen be yourself remember why your there to study its not a popularity contest or a club its your future...have fun be sensible stay safe if it dont feel right dont do it....be yourself more important than anything else budget your money well some has to pay the piper at the end and that will be you..........
How does it differ from school your there to learn not to be taught there is a big differance at school your taught like it or not at uni your expected to learn the more you learn the more you will be taught...........
take time to get to know people. you will not be able to make friends if you're a snob. :D smile, chat, express your desire to make friends. :D
regarding studies, of course always set your eyes in reaching a goal. don't procrastinate, and of course, don't make it a habit to cram. always keep an organizer with you to keep track of assignments/projects to be passed. and always read what you are told to read.
good luck!
