Friend advice....is it ok to not be friends with a few people?

Do you think that you should keep as many friends as possible despite what they've done to you? i just feel really wierd if im not friends with someone im not friends with about 5people and it buggs me, i dont like them really but it seems like a lot of people!

Hi there. look, i dont want to tell u how to run ur life but if u want least complications, stick around with good friends who u think are sincere, motivating, positive minded, encouraging and have the same wavelength on humour. Why stick with people who put u down or take advantage of u when they can? just stay away from negative people in your life and u will go a long way:)





Plus, i know a girl who once have friends but at the same time talk bad stuff behind her back and she knows about it. She term this kind of friends,' Frenemy'. A combo of friend and enemy.





In my opinion, that is the most ludicrous term i have ever come across.


anyway u want to know what happen? she became homeless and died a tragic death because of her misplaced trust on her 'frenemies' in instead of true friends.(disclaimer, this is fiction)





Moral of the story. Don't trust advices from a stranger.

OK, so I find it's best to be friends with people you know you can trust. It's an instinct thing. If you don't like someone it's usually because you don't think you can trust them. I have personally a few close friends whom I trust and believe are my real friends for life. Other people who I socialise with but don't necessarily like I call acquaintances. If these people have done bad things to you and you don't like them, can you really ever call them your friends?
Of course it's alright.. I mean you can stay accquaintances with someone and not hang out with them. I personally find it better to just be nice to everyone and even if they don't want to be your friend, you can still be cordial towards them. If they don't want to be friends though, you can't push it. That will just annoy the person. There are some people in my school that I just wouldn't talk to and I'm out with that. It happens to everyone. You can't always be friends with all the people around you.
I think it is all about quality of friends not the quantity.


Having people around you that don't care or use you will bring you down and you have no need to be friends with them.


I broke a friendship with 4 people last year it was the best thing i did i came to realise afterwards how controlling and big headed they were.
Why on Earth would you want people you don't like to be friends with you?? Friends are supposed to be people who have a special place for you for a reason. I think it diminishes THEM if you say just everyone in the world is a friend just because they breathe. All you owe people you don't like is civility鈥?not your friendship. Save that for people who deserve it, or else it means nothing.

ppl and im happy now that i dont deal with


there drama and i have my real friends who can help me out


and instead of thinking of them selfs


but if you dont like them you shouldnt force


yourself to be friends with them.

In all honesty i have 2 best friends that i have and I'm happy with that. i found most the people i was friends with just cause drama and i just did not want to be involved with that. It just causes problems in your life.
It's a hard choice choosing the right friends, I suppose. You have to chose them out carefully so those friends will respect you and you will respect them back. If they treated you bad, I guess find different friends to be with.
