I might be gettin a tortoise... any advice?

I might be gettin a tortoise in a few months time but before i do i want to know as much about them as i can, care,feeding,lighting ect as i have never owned one. I have owned terrapins in the past though. Would be really grateful if anybody can help me with any information you would like to share.

Please consider joining a tortoise group. The people in the group are all owners themselves. Some may even be breeders. They help each other with all sorts of questions, situations.

They live a very long life so be sure you are willing to be committed for most of your lifetime. Otherwise, get something else for a pet. Turtles can live as long as humans sometimes.
They are surprisingly difficult to look after. I hope you have a nice garden for your tortoise to play in.
