What are some really good ways to get work recognized and to get advice on it?

I am writing a few stories and I want to get advice. I have shown my work to a few people and they all think it is good, but I want advice from people who REALLY know what they are talking about. Like, experts. What can I do to get some good writing critiques? What are some really good ways to get work recognized and to get advice on it?
i use www.writerscafe.org adn www.fictionpress.com.

they help and i get reviews and everything. and people don't steal it. they are writers too so they understand a bit more.

or you can check your library for a local writing club. or create your own. What are some really good ways to get work recognized and to get advice on it?
If you can persuade a teacher or professor to look at your writing, you will be happy. But it won'

t be easy. Agents don't usually accept unsolicited manuscripts, but some do. Make sure your grammar and spelling are perfect, first. Look for awkward passages and unnecessary ones. Trim your stories to the bone. No agent wants to wade through a mass of words that don't contribute to the story. I would suggest one or two only.
