What is your advice to a High School student going to College next year as a first year?

Is there anything you wish you knew, or didn't do? Or something you wish you had that would have made your first year easier? If you could go back and change one thing what would it be? I always like to know what advice people will tell me because everybody says something different. Thanks i hope to hear unique answers! ill choose the most unique as my best answer.What is your advice to a High School student going to College next year as a first year?
As soon as you get your class schedule be sure to scout out where the classrooms are. On my first day I wandered around a building looking for room 170 and it turned out it was the auditorium and didn't have the number on it. If they are available always buy used books. When you have to write a term paper find one book on the subject and read it, then go to the library and find other books on the subject that haven't been checked out in years and claim them as a source. Be sure to do your homework Monday through Thursday so you have time to party on Friday and Saturday night. Learn how to do your own laundry and balance a check book before you go to college, and memorize your social security number because you will use it all the time. And get a small refrigerator and microwave and avoid eating in the dining hall.





I almost forgot! Be sure you know who makes up the test, the professor or the TA. If the professor makes up the test then most of the questions will come from the lecture notes, if the TA makes up the test then the answers will come from the book. And at some point the professor will say ';I wish I had time to go into that subject but...'; and base your term paper upon the subject he wants to cover, if you do a good enough job it's an easy A even with the hardest grader.What is your advice to a High School student going to College next year as a first year?
My advice would be to get to know the campus. Get to class ahead of time because classes would be so full you have trouble finding a seat... kinda embarrassing lol. But all I could really say is to make sure what your major and minors are so you won't waste your time taking extra classes. BE ON TOP OF IT!!! Trust me! ANd just don't mess up please... Good luck!
Don't take a lab at 2:00pm on Friday...LOL I did that my first semester in college.





But really, study hard, but enjoy college. The time you spend in college, just may be some of the best years of your life. Make the best of it and ENJOY IT!
